Set Neck Telecaster Repair - Jan 2009

This was a walnut finish "Squier Masterbuilt" Set-Neck Fender Telecaster which I picked up for NALOC with a Gator case from a drug-dealers house in Leeds. Apparently it's a common fault that the bridge is often badly positioned and the factory-installed nut isn't what it should be. The machine heads and electrics are fine but the tune-o-matic could do with replacing. Having said that I changed the nut and spent frickin' ages sorting out the intonation. I had my doubts about the "Duncan Designed" Humbuckers but - again - with a bit of careful adjustment I've got them to sound a bit sweeter (to my ears anyway). It feels a bit wierd because it's basically a short-scale Les Paul disguised as a Telecaster with a chambered body but no f-hole, (apart from the "f-hole" who is playing it!)Sorry the quality - recorded on an old Sony digital still camera whilst watching "Godfather 2".....you might have to turn up the volume a bit.
